Needless to say, it didn't work out...
To her I could give my heart,
But You want it first.
To her I could give my love,
But You ask for it all.
For her I would lay down my life,
And this is what You require.
What I want
Is what You say I cannot have.
I must first love only You,
And You must have my heart fully.
For only through You
Will I learn how to Love.
Only You
Can teach me what Love is
And show it to me
Unconditionally.
So I must watch
And learn
As I try and understand
How You can Love me,
For only then
Can I truly love anyone else.
So if loving her
Means letting go,
I am only Yours.
This has been the prayer of my heart to God over and over as of late... I never want anyone to take his place...
