I hope this one isn't awkward. Its obviously written for a one month anniversary...but I think its still a decent poem. It has some mythology in it! Haha...enjoy!
One month,
And yet it seemed to pass
As just a few days.
Just one month,
And yet it seems
I have known you for a lifetime.
One month,
Can you tell me
How a day can hold years
And yet pass in an instant.
But these days,
Just a few days apart
Seem to last for ages.
Maybe now,
Icarus has wings of gold,
And holds the sun in place.
These days,
The setting of the sun seems
To take years to come
And the rising even more.
So I wait,
For the day to come
When you will return to me.
I simply wait,
As my heart yearns for you
To run into my arms.
I wait,
To see you again,
To hold you again,
To kiss you again.
Very well written :) I'm sure it made her very happy :) I wrote a one month poem for my ex... It was actually really good but I gave him the original... I'm kinda glad now that I don't have a copy. lol
