Maybe Persephone was missed as much...

Perhaps another thing you should know about me is I love love love mythology. Really, its religion in general. I find it all fascinating, and I think its a good idea to be familiar with other religions. It helps in your understanding of other people, and in the security of your own faith. But yeah, that is a discussion for another time. Mythology! I love it. I like to use it sometimes in my poetry, as of right here...enjoy!

Maybe Persephone was missed as much.
When the world was made barren,
When the lands began to grieve
For the loss of this sole girl,
Then, just maybe, one was missed
Just as much.
Now I know how it must have felt
To have her stolen away,
Except it seems I am the one
Trapped in the underworld,
Unduly tormented in the fourth circle…
All I ever wanted was to hold you
In my arms for a few seconds more.
I know how it must have felt.
But if I am the one trapped
Will you search for me?
Will you scour the earth
Hoping to find me,
Hidden in an obscure alcove.
And when you can’t,
Will winter’s snows abound
Or will spring bloom?
I would veil the world in winter for you,
But would you miss me?

  1. Wow... and yes I totally agree with your intro... I have a friend, Jeff, He is gay. He loves to bash my faith and bring up all other religions and try to talk me down, and while doubt is placed in my mind here and there I always find by the end my faith just gets stronger and stronger. :)
