Here is another one I rather like. I just rather enjoy some of the lines...the part in italics is Psalm 38:10...enjoy!
I look to the sky
For I hear the horizon holds wonders.
The stars do shimmer brilliantly.
I wonder when the sun will rise,
They say its warmth is glorious.
For now though, my skin grows cold,
I search for something to keep me warm
As I wait for the revelation
Of what was meant for me.
In the stars
I see a bright smile, sparkling eyes,
And a loving embrace.
In the stars.
I wonder when the sun will rise.
Maybe I’ll walk through the mountains,
For here lies nothing
But memories and scars.
The mountains hold promise.
Maybe they are hiding
What I’ve been searching for.
I look, and find potential
Hidden within the rocks, among the trees.
Though warm for a moment,
The stones form bruises on my back,
The trees leave scratches in my skin.
There is nothing more here
Than what I left behind.
My heart pounds, my strength fails me;
Even the light has gone from my eyes.
I wonder when the sun will rise
As I wander in solitude,
Lost in the epic of the silencing of dreams.
