Well my best friend told me all of my poems were depressing. Also, my youth pastor (and I disagree wholeheartedly) said it isn't a poem unless it rhymes. Random fact: rhyming is a fairly modern english phenomenon. Anyway, I wrote a happy poem...but of course had to spite my friend and add the last two lines. I just laughed and told her not to read them. Haha...enjoy!
Said the sun to the flower
“How beautiful you are
I could shine on you for hours
Giving warmth from afar.”
Said the flower to the sun
“Your radiance is great
You are the only one
Who can shine on this grate.”
Said the sun in reply
“You’re more beautiful than I
When I view your dazzling color
My lungs release with a sigh.”
Then said the bloom
“You shine brighter than all
You warm every room
Within my heart’s walls.
“In this circle of loving
Forever we’ll lie
You shine bright upon me
And I’ll put color in your eye.”
But this love like all else in this world had to end
The sun’s heat scorched the flowers, its petals blowing off in the wind..
AMAZING!!!! And the last 2 lines might be my favorite. lol
